Work on the project started in March 2020. This federally funded project was to take two months but due to many “compliance issues” between the contractors, Norfolk Southern, and Amtrak we are now in December 2020 and the station has been opened for use during the winter. It will be closed in the spring of 2021 to make necessary alterations. These pictures show the removal of the old station hut, which was repurposed as the Greyhound Bus stop in Tyrone, through December 2020 when the station was officially opened. The southern end of Rail Park was once a rundown abandoned eyesore that was transformed into a new rail passenger station that Tyrone can be proud of.
